CARBON II
Presented During the 60th Biennale di Venezia
During the 60th Biennale di Venezia, Platform Earth presents CARBON II, a paradigm shift showcasing the power of art in tackling climate change.
Curated by Nadja Romain (Lo Studio), Petroc Sesti and Richard Wadhams (Platform Earth), the exhibition brings together works by more than 20 leading contemporary artists including Marina Abramović, Jonathan Yeo, Rachel Whiteread, Mark Wallinger and Emily Young.
CARBON II introduces viewers to a new era of carbon-conscious artwork. By engaging creatively with the complex and existential nature of the climate crisis and championing carbon-neutral materials, Platform Earth is unveiling new possibilities to lead the artwork into a more sustainable future.
Platform Earth harnesses the power of art to shift narratives and unlock funds for carbon capture. New debut works from leading artists as well as sought after editions from our collection will be on sale during the Biennale. Proceeds from funds raised will go towards our landmark 2030 Restoration Proiect in the Venetian lagoon.
CARBON II at Il Palazzo Experimental opens on Monday 15th April.
