I Saw the World End
For Frieze London 2022, Platform Earth showcased a new artwork by Es Devlin at the fair's entrance corridor. The piece, inspired by Devlin's 2020 film I Saw The World End (created with Machiko Weston and commissioned by the Imperial War Museum), explores the cultural impact of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. Printed on canvas using carbon-negative ink made from recycled air pollution, the work highlights innovative, eco-conscious design to promote environmental awareness.
