Sky and Space, Piccadilly Circus

To celebrate Earth Day, Platform Earth presents Sea & Space — an immersive exhibition of art, science, and environmental storytelling, live from Sunday 20th to Tuesday 22nd April at Landsec’s brand-new 5,000 sq ft gallery beneath the Piccadilly Lights.

In collaboration with Space for a Better World, Sea & Space brings together pioneering creatives and climate visionaries to explore our relationship with the planet — from the depths of the ocean to the outer edges of the solar system.

At the heart of the show is Platform Earth’s debut Carbon Collection, featuring works by leading contemporary artists including Marina Abramović, Rachel Whiteread, Es Devlin, and Brian Eno, created using Air-Ink — a carbon-negative pigment made from captured air pollution.

Artist Petroc Sesti unveils a life-sized sculpture of a blue whale’s heart, the world’s first carbon sink sculpture made from embodied carbon.

A 14-metre-wide ultra-high-definition LED screen will surround visitors with curated content from space and sea: NASA’s aurora borealis, deep sea ecosystems, Earth observation footage, and the Solar Relay — a meditation on the solar storms that drive Earth’s climate systems.
